Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg is a federal state (Bundesland) in southwest Germany. It is bordered by France to the west, Switzerland to the south, and the German states of Rhineland-Palatinate to the northwest, and Bavaria to the east. The state capital is Stuttgart, which is also the largest city. Baden-Württemberg is known for its strong economy, characterized by a mix of industry and agriculture, and it is home to numerous global companies, particularly in the automotive and engineering sectors. The region is also famous for its cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and contributions to the arts and sciences. The name Baden-Württemberg itself reflects the historical regions it encompasses: “Baden” refers to the former Grand Duchy of Baden, and “Württemberg” derives from the Duchy of Württemberg.
