Climate Change

Climate Change refers to long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other elements of the Earth’s climate system. It is primarily driven by human activities, especially the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes, which lead to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, trap heat from the sun, causing the Earth’s average temperatures to rise—a phenomenon known as global warming. The impacts of climate change are widespread and include rising sea levels, more severe weather events, shifts in ecosystems and wildlife populations, ocean acidification, and threats to food and water security. Addressing climate change involves mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation practices to manage its effects, and a shift towards sustainable energy sources.
