Pi Day

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi), observed on March 14th (3/14 in month/day date format), because the first three digits of pi are 3.14. The day is often marked by activities related to mathematics, especially geometry and circles, as well as by the enjoyment of pie, which is a homophone of “pi.” Pi Day highlights the significance of pi in mathematics, particularly in calculations involving circles, where the ratio of the circumference to the diameter is constant and equal to pi. It serves as an educational occasion to promote interest in mathematics and to recognize the importance of mathematical concepts and their applications.
