Rugby League

Rugby League is a contact team sport that originated in England in the late 19th century. It is a variant of rugby football, characterized by two teams of thirteen players each, who attempt to score points by carrying, passing, or kicking an oval ball over the opponent’s goal line. Points can be scored in several ways, including tries, goals, and drop goals. The game is played on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end.

Rugby League places a strong emphasis on speed and tactical play, with a distinct set of rules that includes a “tackle count” system, where a team is allowed a set number of tackles to advance the ball. If they fail to score within that count, possession is turned over to the opposing team. The sport is known for its physicality and is played professionally in various leagues, notably in countries like England, Australia, and New Zealand. Rugby League also features international competitions, including the Rugby League World Cup.
